Onya Rann

I'll let you in on a little secret....I'm not a fan of Mike Rann. Not even a little bit. But I do have to say, this is one occassion where I have to respect the stand he is taking for the people of South Australia and Australia.

South Australian Premier Mike Rann said he wanted the federal Government to assure South Australians that Hicks would not present any harm or risk to their welfare.

"The Australian public have been told now for five years that David Hicks is a dangerous terrorist," Mr Rann told ABC radio from Chile. "What I want to know from the federal Government is: What are the conditions of his release? What are the parole conditions? Will he be under supervision?"

Mr Rann said he was not "part of the David Hicks cheer squad" and believed there was a "real danger that he's been built up to be some kind of martyr because of the fact that he wasn't for years properly charged and given a fair trial".

"But now he's pleaded guilty to serious charges and, therefore, I think it would be an outrage if he was able to profit out of it," he said.

Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said it would be up to the Australian Federal Police to decide if Hicks should be monitored once released from jail. Link.

They can't do that though can they?? Hicks swore an oath of loyalty to Al Qaeda, he converted to Islam. He is no longer 'one of us'. And now we are supposed to believe all he wants is to come home and make a life for himself??

Got a little news flash for you. Mori and Terry Hicks are both knowingly decieving us. They know the minute he is able, David will return to his Terrorist mates. I think they are over estimating our gullability here.

Well, all over now. The Leftist, Bleeding Heart Idiots got their wish. I only hope he moves into their back yard when he is set free.
