Torture Accounts Sidestep Gag on Hicks

Amazing. He was tortured, he wasn't tortured. David Hicks lies so damm often he can barely keep his own lies straight anymore.

IT was in the chaotic weeks after September 11, 2001, that the bearded foreigner known as the "Australian Taliban" was captured by Northern Alliance forces in Afghanistan.

David Hicks, known at the time as Mohammed Dawood, was held by the Taliban's feared enemies for two weeks.

He was neither interrogated nor physically restrained nor abused, to his surprise, given the Northern Alliance's reputation for extreme cruelty and even killing of prisoners. Then he was handed over to the Americans.

"When the US interrogators showed up, my treatment changed," Hicks later recounted. Link

It was actually suggested to me that maybe David Hicks wasn't tortured enough during his incarceration. He obviously had way to much time on his hands to make up lies.

He actually made reference to being made to lay down on his stomach in certain positions. Maybe his captors knew he couldn't lie straight and thought they would help??

I have been entirely disgusted with the Aussies who have so wholeheartedly thrown their support behind Hicks. He is now set to make millions once the gag has been lifted. In 12 months the man who would have flown a plane into a building or blown up innocent civillians and has admitted to shooting at Coalition Forces in Afghanistan will make millions off his experience. Life is good for some right??

I must admit though, it must have been hard for him. Knowing that any wrong move would likely cut ties with his Al Qaeda buddies and trying to maintain the face he wanted the media to see to support his cause.

I hardly think though that this is an issue Britain needs to involve itself in. They may have been willing to take him in to see him released but in the end his release bore no consequences for them.

Lets hope there are none for Australia either....
